Poynton Bradbury Wynter Cole is one of the South West’s largest architects’ practices. Founded in 1973, the firm is now 15-strong and has gained a reputation for innovative and sustainable solutions to challenging projects across a wide range of sectors.
The practice has embraced new technology and continuously makes substantial investments in both equipment and training to maintain its premier position in the industry. This commitment is reflected both in its consistent track record of design awards and its reputation for delivering high quality outcomes on time and on budget.
This reputation, and publications of its work, has enabled the practice to attract a number of talented architects and technologists bringing to the team a wide range of skills and experience in masterplanning, conservation, sustainability and innovative construction.
PBWC is a member of Future Foundations, the Constructing Excellence Cornwall Group and has been commissioned to undertake sustainability audits for SWRDA funded projects.
The majority of its architectural projects fall in the £2m to £30m range and examples of its work are illustrated under the sector headings.
The practice has undergone sustained growth over the past three decades; to reflect this and manage future expansion, it converted from a partnership to a limited company in 2006.
PBWC is based in The Old Sail Lofts in the St Ives Conservation Area, winning the Royal Institute of British Architects Design Award for the original conversion in 1989.
The practice is an equal opportunities employer.
